Ablation

Is ablation effective in the treatment of uncontrollable PAC's.  Mine are not responding to beta blocker therapy anymore and they are making my life miserable.

i will try and answer this ,i am not sure if pacs can be ablated alone it would depend if they could be mapped and a focal point of origin be found during a ep study ,if these pacs were causing afib or svt then maybe an ablation might be warranted to improve the situition ,,i had ablation for svt but still get the pacs also it seems beta blockers sometimes are not the best for pacs and maybe another med might be of greater benefit in the long run due the effects bb can have on bp ,which might not help with pacs in some not all .

have u discussed this with your cardio or an ep .
they might give u a holter or event monitor to access the rhythm and see if these can be controlled better for you .

Hey there,yes I agree with waht lagoya said.Im no doctor but from everything I have read and experienced I believe that most docs wont do an ablation for pacs alone..however if they were causing a fib then that may be a different story.Most electrothesiologist wont do ablations for pvcs alone either..I have heard of a few people having it done but not many.Ive been told Beta blockers arent really meant to control pac,pvcs.They can slow down your heart rate,but Im on a beta blocker and STILL experience pvcs daily,some days worse then others..and yes I feel miserable too!Its hard some days even trying to do normal everyday things that many take for granted!If you ever need to talk im here!And many others on here are too:)
