An EKG indicating an enlarged atrial is a new one on me, may be possible, but I've not heard of such...keep in mind I'm not a medical doctor or EKG tech, I'm just a patient like you. That said:
1) and echocardiogram will give very detailed information on the sizes of all your heart chambers and on the operation of the valves and the efficiency of the blood pumping.
2) an enlarged right atrium isn't normally considered a high risk condition, my understanding, so I think you can take that for some peace of mind while you are waiting for the echo to be done.
Keep in mind, even if your right atrium is slightly enlarged, it is still possible that nothing needs to be done about the condition.
I have no knowledge of "edema" and assume it has nothing directly to do with the EKG reading...but I don't know, as said.
