Abnormal ekg

Abnormal ekg

I had an ekg done and the dr. said that it came back saying I had, had a heart attack in the past.  My echo came back normal and so did my blood tests.  My concern is that the tech did my ekg 3 times and all 3 times it read the same thing.  I have a history of SVT and have never had a bad ekg or echo until now.  My question is that if the ekg was a false positive then at what point should my ekg read normal?  the next day, a week - would it be prudent to go to a cardiologist and have them take another ekg?  Wouldn't a normal ekg only a couple of weeks later confirm the false positive of the first ekg? or the need for more tests if it read abnormal?

Hi,

Everyone is entitled to a second opinion. If you are worried ask your doc to re referr you for another one.
It will either confirm your worries or put your mind at rest and at least you will know for sure. x
