Amiodarona use

Amiodarona use

I have been taking 'clorhidrato de amiodarona' for the last 2 months, because of arrhytmia, but feel really well since the third day from the use of amiodarona use.  My doctor told me to take the pills for as long as 2 months but actually I have been taking the pill one every 2 or 3 days for the last month. I really feel well, so  want to know the best way to stop this medication.

Hi,

The best way to stop is to consult with your Doctor. If you have been taking one pill every 2 to 3 days, tell your Doctor that as well. It's really not recommended to vary from the prescribed dose, but this is something that you have already done. I would recommend that you contact your Doctor, tell him/her of your current status regarding the way you are taking the pills and your symptoms, and see what he/she says.

It doesn't matter that the Doctor may be upset, (though not likely, patients failing to follow the prescribed dosage are not that uncommon, though not recommended), you need to be honest with your Doctor and go from there.

Be well.
