Anemia / B-12

Anemia / B-12

I have a B-12 deficiency. The cause hasn't been diagnosed, but I've been tested 3 times and all the results are <100. The doctor initially had me taking B-12 shots daily, then once a week to get it back up. Then tested me again, w/ the same result. Then she put me on B-12 pills (which I have to admit I don't always remember to take).

But here's my question.. I have bouts of heart racing and chest pain.  It's not consistent and it isn't brought on by exercise. (maybe stress though). Sometimes for a few minutest at a time it feels like my heart is pounding so hard, it should be audible outside my body.

Are the two related? Should I get my heart checked out? If so.. what kind of doctor and what tests?

I have no input on the B12 subject, but think you should at least discuss your heart racing and chest pain with your "family/primary" doctor and see if he/she can recommend any action or refer you to a specialist, a cardiologist most likely.
