Anybody with an implantable loop recorder?

I am agreeing to have an implantable loop recorder in and I really want some opinions/personal stories on your own experience with an ILR.

I've had symptomatic PAC's and PVC's and severe episodes of fainting(the last one I broke my ankle and got a concussion) but nothing "major" shows up on the holter,event or just plain ekg strips. I'm due for another holter in a few weeks and then the ILR.  My cardio is concerned not for the PVC's but the fainting because generally those type of arrhythmia's are more "annoying" but with the syncope its another thing.

I had one and it was no big deal to have put in.  Had just a local anesthetic and really no pain afterwards.  You carry a beeper like thingie and activate it when you feel something *different*.  I went in every so often, like every three months and had it interrogated.  I seldom activated it though.  I think you only get 3 activations before it won't take any more.  I've already forgotten!  It really is about the size of a stick of gum because I just had mine taken out and asked to look at it.  It does sound like you need one!  Good luck.
