Anyone on Bystolic or has been on Bystolic?? Help!

Hi, I just wanted to know if other people have taken this Beta Blocker called Bystolic.  It seems that I have been having difficulties with it... or may be the symptoms I have are common to all Beta Blockers?  I take 2.5 mg 2 times a day...  My face is flushed, actually feels like it might blow up.  I feel weak, tired, and suffer with sleep disturbances, and extreme nausea, lost 18 pounds in a month.  It doesn't help too much to keep my pulse down, but stops my  160- 180 bpm SVT in the night.  I was started on 2.5 mg at bedtime, and a morning 2.5 dose was added... of which seemed to make no difference at keeping my heart rate any lower or my 150/105 BP down. I still have severly swinging heart rate of 50's-130's I want to know if these side effects are common, or if other people have taken this and it didn't really work and what they switch too that was much better.  Help I need a lot of input.  I feel like I am dying here and doctors aren't helping too much.  I have taken Toporol with Verapamil without success...Verapamil was phased out and I started just Bystolic.  Now they are thinking of Inderal, but it has more of these side effects that Bystolic.  My dx just came today... Sino Atrial Node Dysfunction... of which I have started as another post.

Hi! I have PSVT. I have tried verapamil, cardiazem ( did not help rate), flecainide ( PCP wanted me off to many possible side effects), toperol XL ( absolute worse- headaches, nausea). Now I am on atenolol. It is works for me 25 mg. split pill into am/pm doses.
Go back to dr... you should not feel that bad. All meds carry side effects but you want to find one that works for YOU!!! We are all made different, so find a dr who will work with you. It took me some time  to find one... but soooooo glad I did.  Having faith and confidence in your dr and knowing they will listen to you is half the battle in regaining your health again.
Best wishes to you. Keep us posted.
