Hi i read your post...generally when people end up with an active arrthymia or an episode of one your blood pressure goes up ie: hypertension especially if you end up in the emergency room or doctors office.  Its pretty common when we go to either place that our blood pressure increases due to nervousness and stress/anxiety.  Alot of times the doc will give you a beta blocker type of med for high blood pressure and it actually works for both the blood pressure as well as relaxing the heart so that you don't experience specific issues with the heart like atrial fib or other rhythm issues.  The arrythmia is generally electrically based and the blood pressure is in its own class of issues/symtoms regardless of what it is with these two it could be cause and effect in my opinion,  If your blood pressure would to soar and become very high and you are experiencing symtoms from that you would naturally become a little anxious and stressed thus putting the extra strain on your heart but only you know what your doctor has told you about the arrythmias and why they are happening if they have....if it is something that has suddenly popped up on you and you feel like your heart is feeling different or fast or irregular maybe you could post what it is you are feeling so that we can weigh in and give you our opinion to help guide you a little bit....good luck...

Not much to add to Jerry's reply here, but essentially, hypertension and arrhythmias are different diseases.

However, hypertension is an increase of the heart's work load, and can especially trigger A-fib.
And - if the hypertension causes heart enlargement (left ventricular hypertrophy) more severe arrhythmias can occur.

Conclusion: If your blood pressure is too high, make a plan (with your doctor) to get it treated, by lifestyle changes (nutrition, exercise, stress management) or by medications. High blood pressure over several years is not recommended.
