I have been diagnosed with a small duodinal ulcer and a high H. Pilori
bacteria count and have some arrythmia. Two EKGS one by my DO and the other by a cardiologist indicate that I have PVCs. I have gas with the PVCs sometimes, and they seem to start after I eat. When I take Pepcid, It seems to quiet them for awhile. I am also on a lowl dose of beta-blocker.
My question -- can the ulcer and or the H. Pilori trigger the PVCs and could teh vagus nerve be involved.
Thanks for your help, as I'm really getting bummed out, since neither
doctor seems to  acknowlwdge that such a relationship exists.

I can't give the link here but just type stomach bacteria and atrial fibrillation on your google bar and see what you come up with, tons of info regarding the possible connection, I just checked it out to be sure, I'm not saying that its the cause for PVCs but if it possibly triggers one arrhythmia, then it is possible to trigger another in my opinion.

there is suspected link bewteen H pilori bacteria & atrial fibrillation, I would assume it could affect PVCs as well, do a online search regrading stomach bacteria and atrial fibrillation and see what you come up with. I remember some months ago their was a discussion on CNN about the possible link between the 2 . Good luck.

Great, tickertock, and thanks! I would not have thought of that Google combination of key words. I immediately found the information you mentioned on MedHelp,  info about a new H. Pilori treatment on Science News and a highly rated digestive diseases
center that happens to be local.
The information is out there, it's just a matter of having to inform doctors of it. Many thanks once again.

I am not aware of an such relationship either.  In there is not specific answer to why some people have PVCs and other do not.  On a basic science level, PVCs are caused by "tirggered activity."  This does not really help our understand of why some people get them and how to prevent the.  It is probable that the PVCs and gastric ulcers are unrelated events.  There may be a time in the future that a relationship is observed but I have never read one or heart this suggested.

I hope this helps.  Thanks for posting.
