I have a wrist BP monitor and a arm cuff one. On occasion when I was in a-fib the wrist monitor would not read. It would state "error" and automatically try again, I did not have that kind of problem whenever I used the cuff monitor.
Twinbee, that is exactly what happened with my wrist BP monitor - when in Afig it would not read and would state 'error' and automatically try again. I don't have an arm cuff monitor but my GP surgery does and it always read with that one, but not with their wrist monitor. I guess texastom that is what your initial question was asking?
Having Afib should not effect results of your BP
As the monitor is counting down...if you are currently in afib, the pattern of beeps you hear will sound irregular.
