I've gone through the whole battery of tests and cardiologists, EPs, etc. I've been told numerous times that my PVCs are benign and not to worry.
You are correct; the challenge is how to cope with them and become less aware when they occur. I can do that during the daytime when I'm busy, but it's alot harder at 3am when they keep you awake.
Thanks for the info.
They don't go away when you want them to, and once you have them, they tend to recur. The trick, then, is to find ways not to be so aware of them.
Sometimes sleeping on a bed wedge kind of pillow, which gets your chest up off the mattress, reduces the amount of 'feedback' you perceive from the heartbeat. You might try that.
Second, Ambien is only effective for about five hours. You're right on schedule!
I'd suggest going back to your doc and asking for a longer-lasting sleep medication or an anti-anxiety drug like clonazepam. This will probably cause the doc (correctly) to start asking questions about anxiety, and for many people with PVCs, this is an issue that should be addressed anyhow.
