I tried a beta blocker (inderal). Couldn't take the sides and my PVCs increased when I started taking them. The more I took the worse it got, I was up to 40mg before I gave up. I've heard others have this effect as-well. So then I tried a calcium channell blocker, verapamil. Again, I saw an increase in PVCs (worse than the BBs I thought). CCs tend to have less sides than BBs. just my humble experience, no opinion one way or the other because I know that what works for some doens't work for others. It's trial and error
Taking blood pressure meds for things like PACs or PVCs is that it's supposed to reduce the cotnraction force of your heart so you are supposed to feel them less. Not the case for me. At first they were less forceful but I quiuckly built up a tolerance and by then the frequency went up too.
I don't know what the threshold is for prescribing meds for palps but, if you can live with them and they aren't dangerous, I wouldn't be in too much of a hurry to start taking beta blockers. They work but they certainly have their drawbacks.
