Whatever you do, don't suddenly stop taking the bb's without doctor approval. My understanding is one needs to step down dosage to a low level before stopping. I'm on 200 mg of Metoprolol daily, and suspect I'd go first to 100 mg for a couple of days and then 50 mg for a couple days before stopping...just an example not a prescription/recommendation.
I have gotten somewhat used to the high dosage of bb, but I can get a dizzy spell if I jump up from a resting position. I think my energy levels are low too, but that may be my advanced age more than the bb.
I guess the good thing about the US is if one can pay or has medical insurance it is easy to get medical attention ... maybe too easy and that is a contributor to our high per-capita medical costs here. So, as the US continues to talk about universal (government) medical "insurance" I read with interest samples of problems that exist in countries that have universal medical care.
Hi there. Starting up, going away, coming back with a vengeance....all things we experience all the time. They feel awful, but if you were checked out and told you are okay, chances are very high that you will get through until you see the cardiologist. Hang in there. In the meantime, if you don't like the bbs and you were put on them strictly for pvcs, then I don't know why your doc can't just take you off of them. You will have to wean off, but there is no reason to be on them (they DON'T really take away PVCs anyway, just slow your heart rate so you feel less of them). I have them more when I am exercising and trying to stay fit, too. (One day I'll have to take that up again! lol) Good luck.
