Bigeminy post partum?

Bigeminy post partum?

I had a baby 10 weeks ago and have been experiencing a dramatic increase in episodes of bigeminy the past few weeks. For the first six weeks post partum I experienced a lower heart rate ( 45-50 rather than 50-55) but very few bigeminy episodes. I could do light exercise without any palpitations. Now I cannot do more than a minute or two of exercise before the bigeminy or sometimes trigeminy starts up. My heart rate is still lower than it was pre-pregnancy. The bigeminy is driving me crazy. I like to take short walks with the baby, and during a 10 minute walk I'll have bigeminy about 5 minutes. I keep going and I'm assuming that is safe to do. I just don't like the way it feels. Any women here experience similar palps after having a baby? Is there anything I can do to eliminate or reduce the bigeminy?

Hey Congrats on your new baby :-)

I started experiencing alot more skipped beats post partum, i can't exatly remember how long after they started, but i do remember they increased, and the episode i had one eve, i woke up with them (that was frightening), Baby was also crying so i put it down to her waking me up startled!

She is now 3 and i am still getting them, some months worse than other's.. All i can suggest is see a cardio, i have seen 2, and they have told me i am getting pvc's and pac's (more off), But the long episodes simular to what you described have not been picked up on any monitor, and my heart is healthy, so they tell me not to worry, BUT it's hard, and very frightening when they happen..

Big hugs to you.

Hi! Congrats as well on the little one.
I was told by my EP dr. that hormones can contribute to a PVC increase or decrease. He was surprised that I just came down with PVCs and he said that most women will get them either during their pregnancy or after they have the baby. I myself have hormone imbalances and I believe(opinion only) that certain hormones and imbalances play a part for women. A lot of women get them during menopause as well. Did you see a specialist for this? You should see one if not, especially with exercise induced PVCs.If they are not worried, then I wouldn't be. I get bigeminy and 20,000 PVCs a day at the highest and I'm only 27! I know it is aggravating but I am working on the ability to ignore them and sometimes we have to learn to accept these annoying beats as normal(I'm still coming to grips with this). I try to think that these will not kill me and try to relax....I know it's hard though!! If your symptoms really bother you, you should talk to your Dr. about the options for treatment. Good Luck!!!! :)

Hi there
I have been getting alot of pvcs after my ablation and my doctor has told me to ignore them, im finding this very difficult. i wake up many times a night with panic attacks and bigeminy for hours and it just builds and builds, im so scared of developing a serious arrythmia.
how do you continue to do normal activities when your hearts are beating in this way? im off work at the min and cannot even do a short walk without feeling weird, my cardio has just said learn to live with it...
please advice
