Bisoprolol and low heart rhythm and low blood presure.

I posted in the heart disease community, but I'm going to ask here to!

I'm a 30 year old woman and after spending the night on observations at the hospital and going trhu a stress test. The doctor prescribed me 5 mg bisoprolol because I have a lot of PVC something like 20 000 per day!!! But I have usualy between 40 to 50 heartbeats a minutes and a blood presure between 105/53 and 120/60. I have read all over the internet that this medication slowdown heart rythme! The doctor told me it would help reduce the frequencies of the PVC, but I woried because my heartbeat and bloodpresure is already so low! I feel extremly tired right now!

Did anyone knows about this medication to be prescribes to someone with low blood presure and heartbeat before. I'm worried!

I am not on the medication but it is a beta blocker that is suppose to slow and steady the heart rate.  This should hopefully smooth out your rhythm and help ease up on the pvcs.  If you tend to low bp you might want to ask if it would be ok for you to add a little salt to your diet to counteract your bp going lower due to the meds.  You might also ask about adding some caffeine to help with the low heart rate but again ask your doctor if that is wise.  As for the meds themselves there is a certain adjustment time period you have to go through when starting any meds but if it makes you super sick then you would stop and maybe try a different type.  Beyond that I guess I am wondering what you have done to try and find and eliminate your pvcs triggers?   Stress is a big trigger as well as stomach issues.  Sometimes when we can get those issues under control the pvcs will sometimes ease up and/or go away.   Take care I hope you feel better soon.  Keep us posted on how you are doing.

Thanks I will ask about the salt intake, I actualy dont eat much salt and absolutly no precessed food. So that would be a good question to ask my doctor. But I don't think that caffeine would be a good idea! It gives me way to much palpitations!

I have no idea what can trigger PVCs if you can help me and tell me I would apreciate it a lot.

You mentionned stress, well that one would be almost imposible to reduce! I have two autistic kids and a neurological malformation (Arnold Chiari Malformation) that cause the crowding of my brainstem, cerebellum, and brain tonsils in the nape of my neck. Making me almost disabled!

You also mentionned stomac issues. Well I have been working on it for the last two years. I used to weight 320 lbs I'm now at 220 lbs and plan on losing and other 50 to 70 lbs in the next 2 years. I changed completly my eating habit and lifestyle. But I still experience acid reflux, so I have to take prevacid every morning.

The cardiologue told me when I ended up in the ER this week after I lost consciousness, that a serie of very close PVCs as cause me to pass out and gave me Bisoprolol even if my heart rhytme and blood pressure are very low in me. He is going to send me for more testing in an institute that specialise in heart trouble, but the waiting list is between 6 to 8 months. I can't wait to know a possible reason for those PVCs I have been having for the last 6 years.

Thank for your time.
