I'm not totally sure what is wrong with me and my doctors aren't much help, I was sort of diagnosed with Hashimoto's disease and I have hypothroidism and a specialist placed me back on synthroid after my doctor took me off it because it dropped my thyroid too low. My heart races and I had high blood pressurePressure ulcer until my doctor placed me on atenlol 50mg I also take a birth controlControl Control rx pill desogen and I'm only 20 years old my bp now is 103/50 is that okay? I'm not over weight and I am moderately active. Please I would like some advice on any of this. It's hard not knowing what is going on.
Which Dr prescribed the betablocker? You best bet is to allow one Dr to be making decisions about the best course of treatment for you (sometimes there tend to be too many cooks in the kitchen). If your tachycardia and high BP are the result of your thyroid disorder than it makes sense to get the thyroid levels to a normal level with hormone replacement such as synthroid.
In my opinion, it doesn't make much sense to treat secondary symptoms with the BB and let the underlying problem go untreated, not really fixing the problem more like putting a bandaid on it. Your BP is on the lower side of normal but I wouldn't say that it is too low. What was your baseline bp before you developed Hashimoto's?
Are you currently being seen by an Endocronologist for your thyroid disorder? If your thyroid function tests revealed that your levels were too low, it could have been that your dose of Synthroid was too high. The symptoms that you mention usually go with hyperthyroid disorders.
