Body Vibrations & BP

I've been waking up suddenly again with body vibrations shortly after falling asleep (20-30').  Without sitting up or moving much, I've taken my BP to see what it may be picking up.  BP read 103/53.  Pulse low 60's.  Not sure if this is normal blood pressure while sleeping, or if the low blood pressure sends the body into some sort of warning reaction, hence the vibration. ( If catecholamines are a factor, I would think the BP would be higher. )
And another curious thing.  I've been on a beta blocker for years (low dose) and my BP was around 130/75, average.  Six months ago I stopped the BB, and now my BP is around 110/65.  BB are supposed to lower BP, yet mine decreased after stopping it.  What's that about?

Blood pressure and heart rate is supposed to drop during sleep. It is, within reasonable limits, a good sign. Your blood pressure during sleep is just beautiful.

I'm very familiar with your body vibrations, they are very common. And according to my doctor, completely benign. I sometimes wonder if they are atrial flutter, but they are (again, accordring to my doctor) not.

It's really strange, my blood pressure have increased after I started using beta blockers, though my heart rate is reduced. What brand of BB did you use? Mine are non-selective, and I assume they block the adrenaline effect of dilating blood vessels, but I really don't know. Selective beta blockers should not have this effect (as they block cardiac adrenaline receptors only). Just my speculations, though.

By the way: I stopped getting those vibrations when I stopped using Zyrtec. Not sure if there is a causality, but it appears so.

I was on Toprol XL 25mg.  
My vibrations subsided completely for an entire year while I was on Lexapro, and another time on Paxil.  SO the vibrations may be related to serotonin processing? Who the heck knows?
With the vibrations I feel as if my heart is slightly off although in my pulse it doesn't seem so.  It feels uncertain, not definite as when I'm alert and functioning.  Weird.
I've never used Zyrtec.
Thanks for the BP reassurance, is-something-wrong, and I hope you can deal with these nuisances better and better.  I'm always on a roller-coaster.  blahhh

Just wanted to tell you I have those vibrations too, only once in awhile but I feel them deep in my chest.  I've only felt them the last few yrs.  At this time I don't take any Tlprol XL, no SSRI's, no anti-arrhythmics. I just don't know what the heck these vibrations are.  Sometimes I think it's just my heart beating so fast, it vibrates.  No pain whatsoever with it.  It's a mystery!

Hi Linda,  A mystery indeed.  I feel the vibes in my entire body, esp. in my arms and upper body, with the weird feeling in my heart as if it's not sure what it wants to do next.  I feel the vibration inside the body with no outward display.  When this happens, I do not observe my hands and arms shaking more than usual when I hold them straight out.  Maybe we're just super charged, electric beings :)
Over the years not one doctor (out of many!) had any answer as to what this may be.  Not even a guess.  I'm thinking Traditional Chinese Medicine may have a clue since they tie in the physical with the energy.  Maybe I'll look at that.

I only seem to feel them ,or it, in my chest.  It's not like a fluuter, as is_something_wrong mentioned.  And I don't have it that often, maybe every month or two, usually at night but I have felt them sitting still and fully awake.  I have mentioned them to Dr.s but they don't seem to be concerned.  I've wondered about electro-magnetic fields....which I know absolutely nothing about but maybe I'll try to look that up.  I think you are right, maybe some of us are super-sensitive to the super-charge, lol.  :)
