Born with a hole in the heart...

Hi there, i was born with a hole in my heart (which eventually began to close on it's own). I was just wondering are there risks for heart problems in the future, like arrhytmias? Once in a while I will have chest pain, but I've gone in for a ECG and nothing was abnormal.

A congenital (born with it) heart defect, such as a hole between two chambers, has happened to many.  While rare, I think there have been many cases of it and from what I recall the happy outcome you have experienced is the most likely/common outcome.  I'd suggest you try to put the idea out of your mind and focus on a health life style for lots of good reasons.

A simple "chest pain" can be caused by many things other than one's heart.  Food, strain, and other causes are possible sources.  If you have no other symptoms related to the heart, I'll spare you a list and hope you just think is there any thing  else, rather than try to match against such a list.  Many of us can't read a symptom list without suddenly experiencing some of them.  The mind is a strong force in how the body feels.
