Can an ekg read false positive.
I had an 2 ekgs done about 1 month apart. The first showed otherwise normal. The second was during a bout of tachycardia and showed left atrial enlargement as well as possible right atrial enlargement. Can your heart structure change that quickly, or was it a false positive/negative?
EKGs are very useful tools for evaluating heart function, but yes, false positives can happen for a variety of reasons: Things like electrode placement and even a person's individual anatomy.
