Can someone please help?

I have svt and pacs/pvcs. I take Propanolol for it. 30mg in morning, 20mg in evening, and as needed in the day if I need it. I have anxiety disorder, panic disorder, ocd and depression. My svt is adrenalin induced, so if I can keep that down, my svt is controllable.
2 months ago I started having some health scares, and it trigger my anxiety attacks again. I hadn't had one in 4 years. Anyways, we can't get the anxiety under control, so my Dr. wants me to try an AD. I decided to start counseling too.
My question is, this last week, instead of my heart rate being high, it has been extremely low, from 48 - 52 during rest. I was trying Lexapro 5mg.  I stopped it yesterday, and I backed off the propanolol, and am still having it. I put a call in to my Dr. but I was curious if anyone else has it this low, and is OK? I have taken the propanolol for 4 years, so I don't know why this week it's doing this. I'm a little scared over it.  I usually don't have it this low.
Thank you,
Michelle

I've been taking Propanolol since Dec 2009 20mg as needed until a new cardiologist switched me to 60mg of Inderal LA.  The extended release or long acting works so much better than using the other and I don't notice as many ups and downs with my HR.

He just switched me again to 120mg but I had to go back to 60mg twice daily because the 120mg at once gave me some major symptoms esp shortness of breath and tachycardia.

I'm not sure if switching to brand name will help; but it did for me - EP said it may have been due to one of the fillers in the generic form.  It's so expensive though ugh :(  so it may be worth mentioning to your dr

Propanolol (Inderal) is the only bb I've been able to tolerate w/o my hr and bp decreasing too much.

I went off the propanolol like she told me yesterday.  I woke up at 3:30 am with it racing about 120 in bed.  So I took 10mg propanolol, and it's better but a little high.  It's either too high or too low, jeesh.
In August, I always have my svt go bad.  Because it is always around 100, so if I get too hot, it will send it to that.
This is ridiculous.  I posted on your comment as well.

I have svt and have been taking propanolol for over 25 yrs.  I was only taking 20 mg. in the morning. We had a heat spell In July and since then I have been out of control. I was told I built up a tolerance to it and it no longer works. My rates have been all over the board:140'160's. Was told to try flecainide 1 twice a day.15 hours later I dropped to 40's.  It lowered my rate too low. Then 8 hours later I was 186.

Thank you, my Dr. called and told me to stop the propanolol and see if the heart rate goes back up, if not, she wants to do an EKG on Monday to make sure I haven't developed bradycardia or a heart block.  If it goes back up, than I am to take a small amount of propanolol.  My husband says its time I just see a cardiologist instead of my GP.  The electrophysiologist here only sees the dire circumstances of people and I did not fit that criteria.  He told her that I can be treated for my svt by her.  But I have heard of other people that take a beta blocker who have low resting heart rates and are ok.  I'm frustrated.

I take metropral and my heart rate is that low and my electrophysilogist says as long as I am not fainting etc that its fine. You need to ask your own Dr to be sure though.
