Hi Kickstar1! If you're still on this site, please look at your private messages. I have had very similar symptoms postpartum as you have had, as well
as a positive EBV reactivation test. I'd love to know how you're doing now!

Thank you!

Hello Kickstar1,

I have been suffering from Chronic EBV for over 15 years. All the docs can do is treat the symptoms. When I first got it (which I believe was due to a surgery) my heart would do what ever it wanted such as; speed up, slow down, skip beat, throw in extra beats and of course due to the constant pain and exhaustion it would raise my blood pressure ... I was put on atenolol 10mg a day(? I think that is how it is spelled) but I only use it when my symptoms flare and I feel any of the above symptoms. Also, you may want to get checked out for MTHFR and FVL. I believe that those with a deficiency with B12, folic acid, b6 has a greater risk of getting the chronic form. I take the Thorne's Research basic B's...it has an active forms of the Bs which u need if you have the MTHFR.  Also, the ebv effects the neurotransmittors so research vitamins that protect them to help avoid ms or parkinsonian symptoms. I currently take the Thorne's B's or Thorne's women's, flaxseed oil, vitamin e (d-alpha form), vitmain d, now food full spectrum minerals. (I think that's everything). The active form of B12 is methyl-b12, if you are having liver or kidney pains this will help sift out toxins from your liver and also help with bad cholesterol and normalizing blood sugar. For both I drink juicy juice cherry juice and Eve's cranberry juice daily 50/50 in cup... it seems to help. Also, their is a over the counter med you can get it at amazon, I believe it's called Liver rejuvenator. I use this for a week every other month. Also, sometimes I notice that epson salt baths help along with baking soda baths...you can use both at the same time in the tub. Just another tip, I don't know if you have problems with your eyes but keep visene 'keep the red out' and the homeopathic ear drops in the med cabinet .... this has saved me many times with ears pains and my eyes swelling/pain. If you have any questions about any symptom listed here or any others you may have feel free to reply because I have tons of symptoms...too many to count. Good luck!

Hi Gary,

It has been actually helping great for about 3 months now; I got my heart checked and my heart is fine it's just that the EBV virus disregulates my nerves (they are overly active) and my heart just beats really hard and fast :(( I am waiting for this symptome to go away as it was with the other ones I have had with this awful virus.

Hi what were you put on the Coreg (cardevidoilol) for?  It is not a drug usually prescribed for palps. It is prescribed as treatment for CHF (congestive heart failure) 50mg twice a day is the maximum dosage, most people never go past using 25mg twice daily. If you are having palpitations you may want to be checked for what type of arrhythmia you are suffering from and then have a drug prescribed to combat that. Coreg is not going to help you with rhythm irregularities.

I'm not sure but I think our bodies can get used & become immune to just about any drug.

I've been on Midodrine for 6 weeks and I have noticed this week a few dizziness spells and that it's not last as long as it did before.

It's definitely worth mentioning to your doctor.
