Causes for my Bigeminy

I was seen by my Dr. several days prior to my automobile accident and had no irregular heart beat.  I was involved in a somewhat severe automobile accident.  As a result of the accident I went to see my Dr. due to being very sore and during my exam she detected the bigeminy beat.  My Dr. feels the jolt from the accident may have caused my heart to beat irregularly. Is this possible?

Mine happened out of the blue, with no apparent rhyme or reason, so its very possible, I'd say. Maybe even possible you had one before the accident that wasnt diagnosed. Lots of people have irregular heartbeats. Sometimes they are easy to miss on tests, so I'm finding out. But again, I'm not a doctor, just offering my opinion.

I'd suggest watching what happens, without thinking about it too much.  If you don't have any problematic symptoms, then it is likely that your condition is a "just live with it", as many do.

Anxiety can cause rhythm irregularities, so while hard to manage, try to avoid anxiety about the accident or anything else..hard to do but the rewards are great.

You heart is like an elictrical circuit.  It would be hard to imagine that a sudden jolt could change the electrical pathways in your heart, or make you ventricles in a more "excited" state.  I am not a doctor but Im just thinking about this in a down to earth way.
