Change of medication

Change of medication

I hv been on Proranolol for many years, nw because of increase episodes of a-fib he is changing me to Solotol.  After reading the warnings on this medication  I  am very worried.  The leaflet suggests this medication should be started while in a hospital in order to record and take care of any bad effects but all by doctor said was to stopped the Inderal the one night and start on the Solotol the next morning.  Has anyone had any experience with this are can give me any advice?

                                     Thanks

I was hospitalized for 3 days when my EP first put me on Sotalol. As a matter of fact my EP always had me start all new meds in the hospital. I was on sotalol for a few years before my ablation. The only side effect for me was that it made me tired, but not to the point where I could not function. Good Luck. Wishing you well and wishing you enough...

Ask about having an ablation done. It was the best choice I made. Its not that bad. You go in, they run a couple tests then take you in the room, start an IV, you fall asleep, then your half awake and half asleep for a few hours then you start coming around more when your in recovery.

The only bad part is laying in bed not moving your legs for 5 hours.

Im arythmia free now.
