Cold all the time now...

by JBriss2113, Nov 04, 2009 04:05PM
I went to my Cardiologist today and he said the Lisinopril was causing my resting pulse to stay 100 and now since my pulse is normal around 80, I'm cold all the time. MY hands and feet will be ice cold. He listened to my heart and my arm and leg arteries and said they sounded fine and strong. MY EKG actually came back normal today when I was laying down 75 resting (first time in 4 years). I have an echocardiogram Monday to go to and if its fine my doctor wants me to diet and exercise. I am 5"5' 195 pounds out of shape 24 year old. I have been suffering from some anxiety lately which has diminished alot since I stopped the Lisinopril and allergies. MY thyroid is normal and I am not anemic. I use to be hot all the time. Could my pulse since it normalized be the reason I now feel cold and warm sensations. I dont think it's circulation problems so what could it be. Is it because I have a really low amount of muscle mass for a male (will exercise soon to increase it).

You HR is not low, just lower than the past, or "low for you".  That said, I do not think your HR is low enough to cause any chilling of the extremities, or to cause shortness of breath (you didn't mention that, suppose you do not have that symptom.. other than being out of shape).

What is you blood pressure?  It seems (absent any personal knowledge) that if you have a very low BP it could contribute to your symptoms.  Then too, very low BP also can cause SOB.
