I have had a mitral valve replacement and currently have a new ICD. Atrial Fib is my main issue but ny EF has gone from a 29 to 20 in 12 months, How dangerous is this and at what point could a person  lose the ability to be mobile?
What happens to a person whose EF is in the low teens .
I have good energy level considering I am 63 with these problems. At some point could I possible lose my ability to get around and be dependent on oxygen?

Thank youu !

Sorry to read of your tough heart experience.  Is you mitral valve a mechanical or biological valve?  Is it working?  The low EF suggests to me you still have valve problems, talk to your doctor, he/she must know.

I'd say an EF below 30 is problematic, but I have no knowledge that would help me forecast where it goes from there.  If you have good energy and are not dizzy, or have blurred vision or other low oxygen problems it seems to be enough for you.

You didn't say how you AFib is hitting you.  I have a repaired Mitral Valve and have permanent AFib, but my EF is a healthy 60%, still I have low energy and endurance: part due to the high dose Beta Blocker I'm on to control/lower my ventricle HR.  I turned 70 today, so age 63 is young to me, go for it!
