Confused and worried

Hi, I'm a 19 y/o female and lately I have been worried about some symptoms I have been having with my heart.
I have been getting really bad chest tightness and pain along with a pounding heart whenever I get up to walk around even just stand up for a bit. The tightness is also in my throat along with a pain that appears in my carotid artery in my upper neck. It has been quite a bother lately. You see I have pretty bad panic attacks; or so I have been told. So this has been worrying me. I get panic attacks daily but this doesn't feel like any normal panic attack it's such a weird sensation I can not describe it fully. I went to the hospitals emergency room recently because it was bothering me so much but because my vitals were fine, they didn't even check me and dismissed it as a panic attack. I strongly disagree with this it is just so bothersome and constant i don't know what to do. I am too poor to visit a dr unless absolutely necessary. I guess I just need to know f I should be worried, I har a family history of heart arythmias, Diabetes, and hyper  thyroidism. Is it something I should absolutely get checked out or is it a panic stack. I do not eat much or drink much water, because of the stress I'm under, could that be the reason? Not do I exercise much because it is too hot outside and it bothers my asthma. I really need a second opinion because very one around me says it's nothing but it doesn't feel like it, being as constant as it is. Please help. My anxiety is only making me panic! Ahh.
Thank you.

Ask for a 24 hour Holter monitor.  The only way to know what it is is to capture it on a monitor.  It never hurts to ask.  Good luck to you.  You are not alone -- lots of others on this board have gone thru what you are experiencing and learned to manage it -- including myself -- most of the time.  What I'm trying to say is it does mean the end of life as we know it.  Hang in there.

Yes actually that helps me so much. I have been looking online for answers an so many things came up like cancer, heart attack, etc that it was just causing so much stress in my life. And as I recall my sister has afib and I have had an EKG but from what I have read online they can not find it from an EKG unless its during an episode which makes sense because that's exactly what happened with my sister. It just sounds exactly like what I could be having, considering I feel that my panic attacks are triggered by physical symptoms ether than physical symptoms triggered by panic attacks. I am goin to get myself checked as soon as possible. Thank you so much for you help. I really do appreciate it, it eases my mind a bunch.

Is there a low cost or sliding clinic you could go to and get checked out?  I, too, have had symptoms that were dismissed as panic attacks and I later recognized the symptoms as afib episodes.  I would keep looking for help.  If it is anxiety, there are things you can do for that, i.e., meditations, breathing exercises, anti-anxiety meds.  You really need to stay hydrated and eat properly.  I hope some of this is helpful.  Good luck -- I'm sending you healing thoughts and prayers.
