Constant Bigeminy

by allaflutter1213, Jul 02, 2009 12:26PM
I was started on FLecainide to control SVT  about 3 weeks ago per my EP but now I am in constant bigeminy, almost 24/7 for the past 3 days, I am exhausted and so very sore.
I am going to see my EP today and I want him to take me off of the Flecainide and I will jsut learn to deal with the SVT as long as I keep being told that it isn't "life threatening"

I know that anti-arrhythmics can sometimes cause other arrhythmias so I guess this is true in my case as well.

My question is: has any one else had experiences like this?
The bigeminy is really getting to me and if the Flec is having this as well as other side effects I would rather not take it.

I don't know about the relationship between Flecainide and bigeminy, but it sounds like you are on the right track.  There may be other medications that will help reduce the SVT, such as beta blockers and some "softer" drugs such as propafenone.
