DON't FORGET TO STUDY GOOD AUTHORS!

by canihelp, Jul 29, 2007 08:43AM
Don't forget there are a few good authors out there that really understand our problems that are professionals.  Dr. Claire Weekes is one of the best!  I not only have her books, but also have a cassette tape of hers when I'm really feeling discouraged.  She lets you know how adrenalin effects each person in a different organ & usually the SAME organ the SAME way, etc... That we become sensitized to stress and it builds up & FEAR, etc... adds to it.  She tells you how to help overcome the senstitized body where the symptoms can eventually go away.  Sometimes I go to sleep listening to her tape.

We need all the help we can get.

Dr. Claire Weeks is the BEST indeed!  After 15 yrs of going through hell with anxiety, severe panic attacks, after lots of money spent on Therapists.  I had almost every tranquelizer on the market prescribed to me, NOTHING helped until I read the books by Dr. Weeks.  She was a god sent for me.  Thanks to her I am now 95% free of my panic attacks and anxiety for the last 30 yrs.

I have the Claire Weekes CDs, too and they're good.  She is very helpful and has such a good no-nonsense approach that I really like.  She seems really caring but also tells it like it is.

I will have to recommend this series if it helps that much.  Interesting to see three people all agree that it helped their anxiety!

Yes, the books really are good and worth recommending!  I am about half-way through one of her books now and it is helping.

Read her books more than one time if your anxiety is severe.  I did that.  Also, like I said in my previous post above Dr. Weeks caused me to be 95% free of anxiety/panic attacks.  The remaining 5% if I feel it coming I get her book out, and start reading till the anxiety goes away.  If I am not at home I remember in my mind what she says in her books.

Thanks.  I am finding that I am having to go back and re-read sections of it.  I love her term "sensitized nerves."
