My mother, age 50, is in and out of the ER/Hospital several times a year because she passes out. She usually can feel it coming on and is currently in the hospital as we speak. The doctors all run test and follow protocols but none can come up with an answer as to what is occurring. Her symptoms this time and usually are as follows:
High blood pressure
low pulse
chest pressure...not pain
nausia
and she can feel her heart due flip flops
her breathing rate drastically drops, reaches 0 and she passes out
her skin was ice cold and clammy, but she complained she was burning up despite the cold temperature in the ER
I spoke to her yesterday at one and she sounded wonderful, by 2 she felt horrible and took a nap, by 5 there was concern that she was not feeling better yet, and by 8:30 she was in route by ambulance to the ER. Which she would not allow to happen unless she felt horrible. She works for a hospital, and at this point I can tell she is scared as I am that they will know what was wrong with her when it is too late.
She had a pace maker put in 2008 as of this July but even then the doctor stated we saw nothing outright warranting the placement of the pacemaker we did it as more of a precaution. After the pace maker was put in she felt wonderful for about a year and then suddenly she is back in and out of the hospital. Over the last few years she has been treated for Lyme's Disease as well as she has been bitten by 4 ticks that carried it.
They have ran all kinds of normal blood test on her, but her through cat scan, checked if maybe she has lupus, checked to see if it was a nerve issue in her brain, had disease control come in and do a consult and nothing...please help...we are so desperate
