Diagnosed with Acute Sinus Tachychardia

I was diagnosed with acute sinus tachy around 5-6 years ago.  I am on metoprolol 50mg 1 x daily.  I could never really get an answer out of my cardiologist about the specifics of it.  I started lately reading more about it all.  Im still nervous about because I still don't know what to expect.  My heart beats fast all the time still, I am tired all the time.  I do have alot of stress and anxiety in my life.  He has done ekgs and a ultrasound a few years back and said everything was ok.  Last visit he said he notice something on the ekg and wanted me put me on a heart monitor but I did not have insurance so he said we couldnt do it since I could not afford it.  I guess im just trying to find other people with the same thing so I can hear their stories and how they are dealing with it.  Im so tired of it and being on the medicine.  He told me I could try and ween myself of the meds and see what happens but Ive been to scared to try.  I've gone without takin my meds for a day or two and it made me feel like complete ****.  I've recently got some ins so Im going to a new cardiologist soon so hopefully I will find out more.

How fast is your heart rate with and without Metoprolol?  If your rest rate is below 100 it seems reasonable to try to get by without the Beta Blocker.  I forget what the minimum HR is for a diagnosis of tachy, must be over 100.

I take metorprolol to control my high HR due to AFib, and at higher dose: 50mg AM, and 100 mg PM.  It does push me down some, or my age does, in truth both contribute to my lack of energy.
