Dr Prescribed 25mg of Toprol and 80mg of Betapace TOGETHER is that safe?

I am being examined for afib after a trip to the ER for racing heart.  I have a stress test in a few days.  I was already on Toprol (25mg daily.)  My new cardiologist wants me to also take 80mg (split in half for am & pm) of Betapace.  Online it says there is an interaction....  is this safe to take?
