Thanks.

Did you ask your doctor about taking Phen with your BB? Ask your doctor or pharmacist..

I would never take any type of amphetamine with an arrhythmia; all kinds of things could happen.  I think that's what started my major problems with my NSVT runs that made my heart stop.

All you need to do is google drug interactions. There are a few really good sites that you punch in your meds and it warns you of the interactions. Every drug has  side effects.

My two cents on this is- your dispensing pharmacist should catch any drug interactions that your doctor missed.  All this info is available on the internet.

You know... you'd think now that everything is in a database that they'd cross reference your prescriptions for any interactions.  But the ones we've dealt with (big ones) don't.  My wife was taking Paxil and had to take Tamoxifen followng her breast cancer surgery.  It's a five year regime.  Our pharmacy happily filled each prescription for 2years until one day my wife saw a news article claiming reduced efficacy of the Tamoxifen when taken  in conjunction with Paxil.  Eve the Oncologist hadn't seen the report!  The pharmacist was aware of the report, but had no way of finding customers that might be using the combination of the two drugs.  We were very fortunte to have seen this report.  My wife immediately stopped the Paxil and got on a substitute, but we have no idea of the impact this will have in the long run.  Bottom line..... check with your physician.

Right, check it out, but not here, check with your Pharmacist.  That's what I'd do and I'd also search for interactions on the web,

Your dose of Metoprolol sounds very strange, 23.75 mg ?? Could it be 25 mg?

Here's a new one on me.  I've been washing down my 50 mg of Metoprolol SR with orange juice every morning.  Then this morning I read that orange juice can reduce the effectiveness of Beta and Calcium Channel Blockers.  The advice said space fruit juice at least 4 hours from taking BB or CCB.  I wonder how that relates to the SR (Slow Release) option.   Maybe I should just stop drinking fruit juice.... there goes one of my servings of fruits and vegetables per day.
