EMI with ICD's

EMI with ICD's

I had a syncope episode on June 10th - getting dressed my bp fell quickly and I smacked my head on the corner of the tiled tub going down - I suffered a concussion; contusion of the scalp & sprained neck.

Previous to hitting my head on Friday; Tues - Thurs I had severe vertigo episodes, headache, pressure in my head and VT episodes.  Wednesday my husband had to stay home because I was so sick and couldn't even get out of bed for anything...couldn't eat, sit up, go to the bathroom (went only once around lunch) or move my head much; even moving my eyes hurt like heck and started the room spinning out of control.

When my head didn't stop hurting and the ringing in my ears wouldn't stop, I went to the dr who sent me to the ER.

They did an EKG (attached and in my profile pictures) & CT's and found I have IRBBB again and Low Voltage QRS, so they called in an EP and had Boston Sci come in to read my ICD.  I put my pics of my interrogation and Vtach episodes in my profile but the June 9th they didn't send that one and I was more interested in it.

My bp was 131/90; HR 95; Respiratory 18; SpO2 97%. They did bloodwork; my glucose was 100 up from normal fasting of 80; it was 2 - 3 hours after lunch so I expected that, my MPV was high but every thing else was in normal limits.

The BS tech did my ICD and showed I had 3 VTach episodes since my last check June 3rd, all episodes showed brief noise at the RV channel; he said my icd shows EMI. I keep a notebook, dates/times/symptoms and I showed them; they said to show my regular dr and said something is definitely wrong.

**June 9/4:22pm VRate 196 - I was in bed and I didn't come into contact with anything
**June 15/9:32 pm VRate was 210bpm - this may have been a sleep apnea episode; if so why wouldn't my ICD pick it up as that? I do notice I have alot of episodes during the night that my ICD picks up.
**June 17/4:21pm VRate 183 - I signed in at 4:17pm @the dr's office for my 4:20 appt.  I had to walk in the heat abit and was SOB, dizzy and VT; so I'm wondering if it was picking up my symptoms.

I'm really questioning things now and my new cardiologist is sending me to a new EP next week because he thinks I have a problem with the RV lead but the EP at the University didn't want to hear it.  I've been told it's too high since implant, but I did notice the leads have come down since last interrogation - which I find weird; why do they keep moving?

Anyone have problems in the RV lead and trouble with what they think is EMI (electromagnetic interference)?  I'm trying to figure out what is going on and what they're missing before something drastic happens.  I'm just not buying the EMI thing and now I have solid proof I have to find a way to figure out just what the heck is going on.

I'm glad you're going to a new doctor.  Keep questioning until they get it fixed.  Good luck.
