I am only familiar with the term "echo" when it refers to an echocardiogram.  Sorry, I do not know what the doctor might have meant when he said he heard an echo.  Let us know how she makes out with the test.

Many Thanks...do you have any idea as to what may cause a heart echo?

An echocardiogram (ultrasound of the heart) is a safe procedure.  Your daughter will lie on a table and a technician will move a transducer (wand) over her heart.  The sound waves will be transmitted to form pictures of her heart, valves, function, etc.

The test is not painful and your daughter will do fine : )
