Ectopics - Light headedness

Hi. I have recently been diagnosed with ectopic heart beats. Whaen i have a skipped beat my chest goes warm for a second or two and i become instantly light headed. This sensation lasts for maybe a second or two. I have had a normal ecg and also a normal echocardiogram which shows i have a structually normal heart. I have started taking beta blockers and i have only been having really mild episodes maybe once every couple of days. I just get really scared with the light headedness, does any body experience the same thing and why am i still worried about it ??? by the way i am 23. 13stones Quite Healthy and active. Are They dangerous. my heart rate has been 95 last two times it has been taken.

A skipped beat once in a while is a normal phenomenon. Everyone get a premature beat / ectopic beat now and then. Some people have thousands a day without even noticing them. Some people can feel every single one, and get freaked out by them.

If your heart is structurally normal, and they don't appear in several thousands a day, you can forget them completely. They will not cause any damage to your heart, or it's pumping abilities. Ectopic beats can cause lots of symptoms (very varying), the sensation of lightheadedness, fluttering, warm or cold feeling or like your heart is squeezed is very common.

Except beta blockers (or CCBs, or correcting the cause, if there is one), the only "cure" is to forget them, and they will happen less often, or you will stop noticing them.
