Ejection fraction above normals

Ejection fraction above normals

Had low bp most of my life then jumped up between frequent ivs and stress. For the past 10 yrs my bp has run 145-165 / 100-110. The past couple weeks it's dropped back to normalcy 100/70. My echo results show EF >77 which would be high normal. What factors influence EF to be above normal?  I see lots of info on low EF but not on high.

Mine is "hyperdynamic" as well.  It's between 74 to 77%.  BP is 108/65 at rest.

THere are certain structural issues that can cause a hyperdynamic LVEF.  Those will be checked on your echo.  If none are found there is no clinical signfigance to being hyperdynamic.  Also, sometimes echo LVEFs can read high in small framed women.

If you are hyperdynamic + high blood pressure there is a slight increase in mortality.  This was found in a study.

I know the info is vague.  Take solice in this because if being hyperdynamic was a major issue you would see tons of posts and search results as bad news travels fast.
