there is a good event monitor that has only four leads, it's called the king of hearts, amber wore it for two months, you wear the leads all the time (except for bathing) and when you feel symptoms you hit the record button and then you call the recordings in.
Hi,
Try speaking with your Doctor and telling him/her that you have a concern that you won't be able to get the monitor to your chest while the episode is occurring. Perhaps they will supply, or arrange for, the Loop Monitor instead of the Event Monitor that you appear to have.
Best of health.
The type of monitor you have does not remember the last minute. It only records from when you put it on your chest. The one that remembers the last minute is a different type of monitor (loop monitor) that is connected to the wearer's chest at all times. Yours does not do this.
Yeah i am suppose to hold it against my chest when im having the symptoms. However, the symptoms are so quick that by the time i put the monitor on my chest the symtoms are done. THe thing i dont understand is if it isnt constantly hooked up to my chest, how does it remember the last minute or so?
Thanks for replying.
Hi,
I believe that deedle1976 is correct. The Loop Monitor should be able to capture a few minutes before you push the button. The Loop Monitor should be equipped with leads connected to pads on your chest.
I trust that the unit you have is to be held against your chest when an event occurs. I also saw an article about an Event Monitor that is worn on the wrist. What do you need to do to use yours?
More complex still, there appears to be an implantable device, done under local anesthetic on an outpatient basis.
Regardless, I am sure that you will be able to capture your problems, just be sure to keep the device handy.
Best of health.
I think it's a loop monitor that remembers the last two minutes.
