Excessive PVC's SOB Balnce diizzy

I Am 42 soon to be 43 5'3 110 lbs no family history of cardiac problems arrythmia or other , NONE. Last year I was in a car accident airbag deployed into chest ,lost consciousness , rib bruising .burns from airbag. I wnt to ER I had heart rate of 110 ,  low grade fever , they said that was the trama, ny normal temp is 97.2 ,chest pressure and of course rib pain ,xrays were not adequate to ruleout rib fracture dictated report said that I saw months later. I have been having massive PVC's, dizzyness ,chest pressure like an accordian  for a bit over a year now .I have sever TMJ and just contributed the dizziness to the TMJ getting worse . I had a holter monitor and it was a rather good 24 hours but showed well over 5000 pvc's ,bigemeny -trigeminy , supraventricular events again this was a better day for me . I had never heard of cardiac contusion before from airbag deployment ,but looked it up and sure enough blunt chest trama can do this . I have a small area of the septal wall that appears to have had an infarct and also an EKG recently that said speatl infract age undetermined , my overall ejection fraction is okay despite this small infarct , and actually have other EKG's thathave only shown the frequent PVC's and did not say septal infarct , very confusing though sine echo clearly shows a small septal infarct ! ( I do know a bit about the heart ) I scan them LOL , crazy though when looking at my own I am like in awe ,when in others I am just like right on the pathology ...my own is troubling ..I am guessing that I had blunt chest trama ,with loss of consciousness ,the bruising ( Cardiac contusion damages a small area of muscle in my heart wall and the resultant PVC's since this occurance are due to that small damage where in my ventricle muscle where the cells for the pacer lies in that area are constantly irritated now . I have had thyroid panels ,magnesium ,potassium ,all within normal limits , there is no other rhyme or reason and these PVC's occur at same rate while sleeping as in activity , I might go 20 some beats without one ,but its rare !

I have diagnosed myself ,but any professional had a similar patient ? AGAIN noone in family with any sort of arrythmia or cardiac disease...just lucky me !

Hello...

Sorry to hear what you've been through:( Are you currently under the care of a cardiologist? When you said "I have diagnosed myself" what have you diagnosed?

Funny , I scan ( echocardiograms all day at work ,I am a diagnostic cardiac sonographer) But eh cardiologists on satff have ordered all these tests I had ,just too busy to get with me on them , its all free of charge and they are busy.I am actually going to see the first who ordered the thyroid and mag-potassium studies afet seeing the holter monitor results of 3 hour hookup at work, but a different one ordered the 34 hour monitor where I had well over 5000 ,and again that was a good day for me ,but I haven't gotten back with him ,but both said cardiac contusion from, aribag can cause this ,but the pvc's lasting this long , however I never had anything like this before that , so when I say I diagnosed myself with cardiac contusion thats what I meant they agreed ,but not official diagnosis yet ,again seeing the first DOC that was suspicious tomorrow.  something made me pass out after immediately and only thing that happened was airbag hit me in chest ,I told the ER of my chest pressure that day and they did NO cardiac workup at all, and I believe it or not hd never heard of cardiac contusion so didn;t stress them to followup with my chest pressure I just thought it was pressure and burning from the airbag hitting me ,even though I passed out !  I jusy wonder if anyone else ever had this here? Thanks for responding.

Your comment about the ER doesn't surprise me at all! I work as an RN and you can only imagine what I see on a daily basis.

I have definitely heard of people who suffer cardiac contusion from impact of the airbag. That is awful that they didn't do a cardiac workup while you were there in the ER. I am currently reading a book tiltled, "Fatal Care...Survive in the US Health System" It is an inside look at how a misdiagnosis, wrong site surgery, medication errors etc. and the impact it leaves on a patients state of health...unfortunately, many do not survive in the end. My advice to everyone is...Question EVERYTHING!!! Sometimes I wonder where I'd be if I didn't know what I know*lol*

I'm happy that you will be seeing a cardiologist for your symptoms. Please keep us posted with how you make out:) Best of luck and I'm sorry that you were not properly diagnosed...it's a good thing you do what you do and were able to get yourself headed in the right direction.

Update, My cardiologist did every test to rule out some other cause as opposed to the cardiac contusion his first thought was .All test showed I had no blockages and no other contributing factor ,he states that the airbag when deployed caused cardiogenic shock ,some small damage to ventricle and the arrhythmia is because of this . I guess too the fact that they are 24/7 , plus the frequency . I have since studied up on this and was shocked to see what blunt chest trauma can do . I had no idea that young athletes die all the time playing , football, baseball, hockey and yes others too have died from airbag deployment in to chest even when no penetrating injury, the atrium and ventricles have exploded , depending on if the hit was when the heart was in transition from a systolic vs. dyastolic phase of cycle in the beat . ( hope you follow) .

I have symptoms constantly , pressure in chest ,dizziness near fainting ,if I just felt them and they didn't cause the other I could take it ...I am tired and wore out ...does no one else feel like this .My feet swell too , if on them a lot .I'm a tiny lady , no cholesterol problem ,its pretty ridiculous.I hate this . I am taking a BB ,but my BP is already low so this has made it worse and the dizziness worse ..I am researching alblation ..I will do that to get rid of this .

Hello...

I've often wondered how you were doing:) Yes, I was able to follow and understand what you are making reference to, it's termed Commotio Cordis (CC) which can cause sudden arrhythmic death as a result of a blunt chest wall blow.

I'm sorry to hear how this is impacting your life:( If the side effects of the BB's are becoming too intolerable and or your symptoms are worsening...ablation would be your best option.

Thanks for the update...Always nice to hear how things are progressing for people:)
