Experiencing irregular heart beats

by daffodil9898, Apr 22, 2009 11:52AM
I have been experiencing irregular heart beats for some time.  It feels like it skips a beat.  It gets really bad when I drink caffeine.  I had an echo and neuclear stress test run and all they found was an enlarged left atrium and sub sternal thyroid tissue.  (had right side of thyroid taken out 7 years ago.) When I had the stress test all the arrows point up until I got tired and then I had one to go down right before it ended.  Not sure what all this means but I know that something is not the way it should be.  Any ideas?

Caffeine is a def no no for me! Even a little bit causes my heart to react...lots of palps. So I have given up anything with caffeine. I drink herbal teas which I find to be quite good, even iced.
I hope that your doctor explains the results of your tests to your satisfaction.  Ask lots of questions and make sure you understand everything that is going on.
