Fast Heartbeat

Fast Heartbeat

Hi.

Why am I having a fast heartbeat sometimes or during or before menstruation-- it's 90 plus upon waking up in the morning and 100 plus sometimes.  In the middle of the day it is between 65 to 80.

I am currently on Coversyl, 2mg for hypertension.  I'm 40 yrs. old.

My 3D echocardiogram is normal.

Is it okay to take magnesium supplement?  THANKS.

Hello Mye.

I am 44 yrs. old and I too sometimes have an increase in heartrate (90 - 100 beats per minutes) esp. just prior to beginning menstruation on day one in the morning especially.

Once I start the flow, so to speak, blood pressure goes back to normal.  I do not have hypertension; so, I don't need to take BP meds.  The PVC's (Premature Ventricular Contractions) are more bothersome at that time also.

I am not a doctor; so, I cannot advise if it is okay or not to take supplements.  You will need to talk to your doctor and/or pharmacist to know if there could be any adverse reactions when taken along with other medication/s, this includes supplements.
