Fast resting heart rate

Fast resting heart rate

I'm a 23-year old black male with no medical history.

I work out a couple of times a week. Average weight.

One thing I notice is that I seem to have a very high resting heart rate, it's usually around 90. Sometimes when I run on the treadmill it can get close to 200 before I feel like I have to stop. No idea what my BP is.

Is this something I should be concerned about, or just genetics? No other symptoms to speak of but I wouldn't want to have a heart condition I'm not aware of.

A resting heart rate of 90 is a little high but does not necessarily mean something is wrong.  This can be affected by stress, caffeine, energy drinks, sleep deprivation among others.  If you are worried about high heart rates, it is worth talking to your doctor.  There might be symptoms that you haven't noticed or thought about, but it is likely that it is nothing to worry about.

I hope this helps.

Hi
I am a male 40 years old, 6'0 275lbs being treated for high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I do not smoke and I exercises moderately 4 times a week. Besides the exercise, I have a desk job 5 days a week getting little other exercise. Someone suggested that I consider a inner imaging screening (EBT Hart scan). I am on Lipitor and Vytorin. Recent blood work revealed cholesterol at 118 but CPK at 205 also I have been experiencing lower back pain. Do you think I should consider this image screening?
