Feeling of palpitations after breakfast

Feeling of palpitations after breakfast

Good morning,
I've been having what feels like palpitations only after breakfast and so far all tests come back normal. I've had blood work, upper GI series, and EKG.

I don't smoke or drink and workout regularly. For breakfast I usually just have egg whites with a little cheese and oatmeal with cranberries. Can any of these foods cause the feeling I'm having?

Thanks

Sounds like a healthy breakfast to me.

But, any eating does raise the BP, slightly to get more blood to the stomach, as I understand your system.  That could be a stimulus.   Do you have any other heart difficulties: BP, HR, Lightheaded? To name a few.

BP is ok although has been up and down depending on when I check it. There have been some swings from like 116/78 to 135/85 and so on. Nothing too high though. Doc said next thing to try perhaps is the holter monitor. My blood work was perfect in terms of cholesterol, enzymes, homocysteine levels, etc. I'm basically a very low cardiac risk but this issue is quite annoying and mysterious thus far.

Just as a FYI - Just had lunch which was bigger and heavier than breakfast and feel fine.

Have you had palpitations before? I have and sometimes I mistake the palpitations for what is actually food gurgling in my upper stomach. It's a very small difference in feeling, for me at least.
Just an idea.

Never had palpitations before these last couple of weeks. I do get some discomfort in the upper GI region in the middle just about where the ribs end, along with these feelings of palpitations. Sometimes I'll start belching, something I've never done, and sometimes I don't. The tests for GERD, hiatal hernia and ulcers were all negative.

I'm glad all test so far are negative so it could all just be stress perhaps. I looked up Angina and for it to be just with breakfast doesn't seem to indicate that.
