Fireworks in my chest

Fireworks in my chest

I don't know much about SVT or NSVT or even pacs for that matter.  I have strictly for the last 17 years been a pvc person, unifocal, right ventricular, very symptomatic, up to 17K per day (I know I have had more, but that is the highest holter).  Now things have changed and as some of you know I am waiting for my appointment on 9/6 with the EP. My discomfort feels so different than before and I think I might be having pacs.  I feel the flutter, more toward the sternum, and while feeling them (last holter recorded 9K "extra beats" but doctor could not discern them because the "line" was not long enough for a pvc, but too short for a pac - (whatever the heck that meant).  He said things looked "multi focal".  When I'm feeling these so called pacs, and if I am checking my pulse, I feel no skip, but certainly do in my chest.  Also, without an anxiety - I swear! - my heart rate will go up to 140 - 170 and stay there for 20 mins. and nothing will bring it down!  Is this the lovely svt????  I sure am glad I have my appointment coming up.  This rapid heart beat has only happened 3 times in a month - but what the heck?????  This is completely new.  Aside from that, laying down at night or in the am, my chest feels like there are firecrackers going off inside.  Used to be just pcvs. thump, thump, skip, thump, thump, skip, etc.  Now I don't know what is happening, all sorts of weird thumping.  I want to go back to just having pvcs....Again, last check 2 months ago - echo/stress - all normal.  Well, I guess I am just venting, I know you all know I am suffering, but I am not terribly anxious about this.  Used to be pvcs happened only after exercise.  The good thing is exercise seems to alleviate all the fireworks for a while, so I am exercising and walking more which has been very good for my head.  Just don't know what this rapid heart beat is....

I'm sorry to hear you're having such a difficult time. Having a heart beat crazy like that is so scary. I had SVT for over 20 years and mine would race up to 250 bpm. They are preceded by a PAC. For me, the Pac feels like a flip floppy feeling in the chest or beat beat...pause... harder beat. When I had a very long pause, I would start feeling light headed and I actually felt as if my heart stopped. I always had an empty sort of feeling in my throat and I knew the racing would start. I can't say for sure that yours is SVT. There are other types of tachycardias like afib as you know. At your next appt. maybe they can put an event monitor on so you can catch these new types of arrythmias. I've never felt anything like fireworks going off inside my chest. When I had SVT it felt more like my heart was going to beat right out of my chest...like my heart was the boxer and my chest was the punching bag and it was hitting as hard and fast as it could. AFte the ablation for SVT I still get PACs and they feel the same as I described above other than when I have the long pause that would precede the SVT, I just feel light headed and then my heart starts to beat normally.  It'll be interesting to see what the doc says about these new symptoms.
