Floinef for heart racing and sinus tachycardia

My EP doc just puy me on floinef .1mg twice daily due to my heart racing he said this med will keep salt in my body to keep me more hydrated. I don't understand because I am not dehydrated. Why do you think he did this? and what are the long term affects this med is going to do to me?Can you help because it scares me taking a medicine with so many side effects. Oh and one more thing when I got the prescription filled the information pamphlet said if using this med you should be wearing an alert bracelet why is that?

I do not know about the med but I can tell you for  a fact that it is very easy to be dehydrated and not know it especially in the summer. Infact I can tell you that your body consumes two liter of water daily in average perspiration, When it is hot and or you sweat more obviously you need more fluid intake. I do not know how much you drink but at the very least you need two liters daily when it is not hot, otherwise you must up your intake of water especially in the summer or if you do physical activity and sweat. I notice that in the summer heat my pvc's get much worse, that is also probably because I neeed more hydration, also when we do not drink enough the electrolytes in our bodies decrease, magnesium especially is critical for good heart funtion, but also potassium and yes even sodium. It is very easy to be dehydrated and not know it especially a cellular level and you can have different degrees of dehydrationa and not have the severe dehydration symptoms yet it could very well be the cause of heart pvc pacs and other hert arrythmias especially if it and it most likely will affect your electrolytes

Did you google the med?  You can get a lot of information that way.  Even come across discussion about people on it or having been on it.  Just a suggestion.  I always google the drugs I'm on.
