How is your Granddaughter, did ever determine the cause of the fluctuating heart rate?
Thank you for your reply.
Her heart checked out o.k. (e.k.g., ultrasound, etc.). She had a holter monitor for 48 hours, and everything looked good. They are now going to have her wear the monitor for 30 days.
I didn't mean to imply that the doctor (a cardiologist) wasn't concerned. He is just perplexed, as everything has come back "normal' so far. And, no, he didn't suggest any additional specialists.
My granddaughter has been under alot of stress, because her mother has been sick and the family recently moved from a different state. I would think stress would be the cause also; however, even upon waking up, her heatrate is somtimes 150. My granddaughter's primary doctor initially diagnosed the problem as stress; however, after listening to my granddaughter's heart with a stethoscope, she could hear the fluctatoin of her heart from 80 to 100 to 120 and back to 85 within minutes. This was when the primary doctor gave my granddaughter a referral to the cardiologist.
Again, thank you for your reply.

I'd guess we'd need to know more, e.g., emotional or stress problems, can you relate any external condition to the onset of fluctuations. How long has the fluctuating been going on?
I find it troubling a doctor world say "he doesn't know"...but hope he also said the heart checks out as good, other than the heart rate behavior. Did he suggest any other specialists?
Let's see what others have to offer beside questions, that's all I've offered so far.
