Flutters in chest

Flutters in chest

Hello everybody. :) Just a question...This morning I was walking in the hall way, and my heart suddenly starting having this fluttering feeling followed by a thump, and there were several in a row, probably for about 30 seconds to a minute. The beat just felt very erratic and wrong. Afterwards my heart rate was elevated, but I don't know how high. Is it possible these were PVC's? On my holter monitor test I had 250 over 48 hours, which isn't alot. But i've never had the fluttering feeling combined with the "thump" afterwards. It scared the **** out of me and the cardiologist is putting me on a thirty day event monitor. I have mild mitral valve prolapse but I doubt that's the reason for this. Thanks for any input or similar experiences.

Yes, the "thump" you are describing can be associated with the PVC's. You see, when the heart pauses for that second, it will give an extra heavy "push" so to speak to get the flow going again, that is why you feel the "thump" I hate that feeling. Sometimes, I notice it more than other times, and I am not sure why, all I know is it is not too pleasent.
