Thank you for the responses. Just when I think I can somewhat handle my pvc's, boom, get hit by something different and more disturbing. The whole 2 minute incident before the tachy set in felt as if my heart didn't know which way to go to reset itself. That made me freak!
I thought bigeminy was more consistent. Mine was a combination of different irregular sensations until the heart reset itself. I wasn't take my pulse while this was happening since I was in the middle of talking to someone, but all the crazy stuff I felt directly in the heart, so it's possible that I wasn't feeling all the actual beats. blaaahhhhh
Sounds like bigeminy. Those pauses can be really scary. I had that going on a year or so ago. Scared me to death. I wore a monitor and everything turned out okay. Just pvc's and pac's. Call your doctor if you need piece of mind. Otherwise, the anxiety over them will just make them worse.
Take care Jodie

A-fib is a very irregular tachycardia. I have atrial tachy and when it goes off, it beats quite regular but at 150 - 198 bpm. Then thump - it kicks back to normal after a bit of time. A-fib the rate is faster but seems to jump around from slower to faster as you check it. Your event sounds similar to bigeminy where every other beat is a premature beat. Sounds like you had the compensatory pause too which is not uncommon with PVC's.
If you have this again for any length of time, you will probably want to mention it to your doctor.
it reset itself after the 2 minutes, then the tachy lasted for about 5 minutes, then all back to normal. To be concerned?
The key thing is, if you didn't experience any other symptoms your heart was still pumping blood efficiently. If you got pre-syncope or syncope, or SOB, then it would be a different story.
Chalk it up to a bunch of ectopics happening in a "swarm".
The only way to really tell is with an EKG though...... :-)
