Hard painful thump in heart?

Hello, all. I am a 26 year old male. Lately I've been getting these frightening experiences where I'm sitting calmly and suddenly I get a hard painful thump from my heart. Tonight it happened followed by a couple quick beats before returning to normal. Needless to say I'm scared silly now. It was painful and it felt like a punch to the chest.

Any ideas what it could have been?? I'm terrified and my anxiety is out of control because of it.

I have a stress test scheduled for next Friday but frankly, I'm not sure i'll make it with all these scary symptoms I've suddenly been getting.

Sure, I get it. I have PVCs sometimes, but this one HURT. Like, it was painful. Is this still a PVC even though it hurt and  there was a couple quick beats following it before returning to normal??

Also, my PVCs tend to make me want to cough when they happen. No big deal...but lately my NORMAL heart beats have been making me feel like coughing for a few beats in a row.

Sounds like normal PACs or PVCs.

The "thump" in your chest is the next normal beat after the ectopic beat, which is stronger because the heart is extra full of blood after the short pause which follows the ectopic beat.

It's normal and everyone have these from time to time.

I would also like to add that I also experience a couple really quick heartbeats every so often that are also somewhat forceful. Like, I'll have my normal resting heart rate, then suddenly I'll feel a few heartbeats in a row that are quick before everything returns to normal.

Any ideas???
