I had ablation for afib and svt in January, it went great.  It was easier than expected.  The worrying before hand was the hardest part.  When it was over I could not believe how easy it was and I had no drugs during the procedure.  It normal to be really nervous its your heart.  If you trust your doctor you will be fine.  The recovery for me was very easy.  I wish you the same.   Good Luck!  Keep us posted!

Hi Donna....glad to see you back and glad that you are taking control of your life back here with getting the study done. I like Debbier had an ablation for a fib and SVT a couple of years ago and it also was a success for me...i got my old life back....the procedure was a no brainer even tho i had complications because i had a couple of other issues besides the two but if i had to do it again i would go in this afternoon seriously.  There is absoltely nothing to be worried about w. the procedure and like i always say if something did go sideways on you what better place could you be than in a hospital in a controlled environment for them to deal w. whatever may pop up.  The ablation was developed originally for exactly what we have...a fib and SVT and the success rates are amazing....i would just be sure that the doc feels that you are in the 70% or above range of success which my doc says is the earmark for a successful ablation.  There is nothing to be scared over Donna i always say the ablation was alot easier than a root canal that i had done.....good luck to you my friend and please be sure you post after the procedure to let us know how it went and for us to be there for you if you are still scared......<3

well I had the ep study done thursday ,but could not have the ablation done. He did tell me I had atrial tachycardia. Which is really svt I believe
and he knows now where it is at now.The only problem is that he can not fix it with an ablation. He is referrring me to a hospital in boston, mass so they can perform the cryroblation instead. He said it is too  close to another vein or artery to perform the ablation. He didnt want to take the chance of damaging any other vessels. Now I have to wait and see when I can get that done.
