Health Topics - WOW!!

Googling a topic is a great idea, but if you don't have the time or inclination to sort through a lot of webites (good and bad), here's another great way to learn more about a specific health topic:    

I'm not sure if everyone knows this, but there is also a huge database of health information available on MedHelp's site.  In addition to information on medications, the database also includes information and discussions on diseases, conditions, and testing.  To access the database, click on the  "Health Topics" link at the top of the page.  

Once the screen has loaded, you will see two boxes that can be checked, or unchecked.  By checking the "drug" box, you will have full access to the drug database.  Selecting "tags" will bring up educational information as well as discussions on the topic you are interested in.  Next, select the topic of interest and pull up a chair for some interesting and educational reading.  Choosing one or the other of the boxes (drugs, tags) will limit the database to your selection.  Choosing both will give you complete access to the database, and the drugs will be identified with an icon.

Try it out!  For example, click on "Health Topics", then on the letter "I" and scroll down to "Inderal LA", click and read informative information about this medication.
